For best results

Make sure your document is flat and well lit. Use flash, except when shooting glossy documents (magazines, etc.) Use a darker background for best edge detection. You can tap the viewfinder to focus on anything in the picture.

Using flash

NOTE: if your scans are overexposed or autofocus does not work well with flash, you can try to change the flash option in app settings.

Scan from camera

Use the “Camera” button for regular (single-shot) scans of your documents. If the document is well lit, and you are holding your device steady, you can get very good results from a single shot.

SureScan 3x

To use SureScan mode, press the “SureScan 3x” button. It'll automatically take three images of the document.

SureScan is our proprietary scanning mode that delivers sharper images with less jitter or smear. It is especially useful in low-light conditions.

Regular photos

Scan regular photos on a black background for automatic edge detection, but avoid glare from flash and lights (try shooting at an angle: the perspective correction will straighten your image).
